Pre-purchase boat surveys · Perth & Fremantle

Know what you're buying before you settle

An independent pre-purchase inspection of a used boat helps you understand how the vessel has been cared for, and what may need to be spent to bring it to a good, safe operational level.

Why it matters

A used boat can hide a lot

Listings and test runs show the best of a boat. A survey looks at the parts that are easy to miss: running gear, fittings below the waterline, mechanical and electrical condition, and the state of safety equipment.

It's most valuable when you're buying remotely. We've helped buyers from the east coast and even New Zealand get into a WA boat, and have it shipped, with more confidence.

  • Agreed scope confirmed before the inspection
  • Written findings after the inspection
  • Observations on condition and items worth attention
  • Results of any optional tests you arranged, when available
  • A chance to ask questions about the findings

What it isn't

  • Not a warranty or guarantee of seaworthiness
  • Not a valuation (unless separately agreed)
  • No dismantling or destructive testing
  • Hidden or inaccessible areas can't be assessed

Timing and coordination: inspection dates depend on our availability, the seller or broker, access to the vessel, haul-out (if needed) and weather. Tell us your settlement date when you enquire.
